In an 2016 interview with Buzzfeed News, Mark Zuckerberg said:

“We’re entering this new golden age of video. I wouldn’t be surprised if you fast-forward five years and most of the content that people see on Facebook and are sharing on a day-to-day basis is video.”

Just think about how tiresome it can be to read page after page with pure text (I’m falling asleep right now just thinking about it.) Video content is more likely to attract attention, evoke emotions and create engagement with the audience. It could even go viral, which potentially could mean millions of views. And who doesn’t want that?
