How we turned this blog post to a video

We always encourage other marketers to get more out of their content, especially by re-using existing content such as blog posts in new ways. Creating a video out of a blog post is a good way to get more traffic to your blog post. Therefore we are practicing what we preach, and in this article we will go through how we made this blog post into a video with VIBBIO.

First step is to work on the text and decide on the main points you want to convey in the video. Since the video is only going to include a small part of the actual blog post we have to decide on what is worth highlighting to make viewers want to go read the blog post as a whole.

This blog post is about how video can be used for employee training and onboarding. The first thing I wanted to do was to grab people’s attention, that's why I started with a question of why they should use video to spark curiosity and followed up by a statistic from the blog post to answer the question.

The rest of the video I wanted to just give snippets of what they could expect to read in the blogpost, I focused on the main headlines of the blogpost which are short and will work well in the video.

A key takeaway when creating a video from a blogpost is to keep the text shorter so that the viewer can easily read the messages and to keep the video short. However, you are not bound to having a text-based video for blog posts. You can always create a short interview with the author or someone from your office, this way you can include more of the video, but also put a human touch on your video.

After writing the text you want, the second part of the process is selecting the visuals you want to go along with the text. I obviously used our video creation software VIBBIO to create this video. So It was easy to find the visuals I wanted and put it together without having to do any of the editing.

The images I used were free stock images from unsplash, I wanted images that were light and not too distracting. So I just searched for work and video related photos and found a few that I enjoyed. In VIBBIO I simply pressed the add stock photo button and searched directly in the app for the photos I wanted, then added them to the video.

After selecting some visuals I wanted a part with just text on blank spaces because I wanted the focus to be on the words and not the images, also to change it up a little from the photos. Therefore I just choose a clear white background for my text.

After putting together my text and visuals I just selected a song and was done! Video production doesn’t have to be extremely complicated and time-consuming, especially for short videos like these.
